Proverbs 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.
I have often found the answer to questions that I had about the scriptures somewhere totally different in the Word than the verse, chapter or even the book that triggered the question. Sometimes the question is in the Old Testament but the answer is in the New. Sometimes it's the reverse. When I stumble across one of those keys and realize the lock that it fits I feel a sense of great joy because I know that the Holy Spirit is helping me understand God's Word.
There are some Christians that focus entirely on the New Testament without realizing that you cannot really understand the New without an intimate relationship with the Old. That's kind of sad because that means they are going to miss so much !
I have a feeling that Proverbs might hold the key to some of the questions that I have been holding for some time now. When it was first mentioned to me, I felt a little disappointed because it's not my favorite book. But God's bringing up stuff related to it so maybe it was his idea. Okay, God ... I'm listening. Where are we going with this ? Rain on me, I've prayed, scrubbed the bucket and put on my boots and parasol, as the saying goes :-)
